Make a privacy request
Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or a deletion. Requests are free, and asking will never change how the site treats you. The privacy policy explains what we hold and why.
What you can ask for
Access
Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and for the categories of recipients we shared it with.
Correction
Ask us to fix something inaccurate or incomplete — most often a date, prize pool, venue, or registration link in a listing.
Erasure
Ask us to delete data we no longer need. If it is a published listing, we remove the record from the index and confirm in writing.
Nomination
Under the DPDP Act, name someone to exercise your rights if you die or cannot act for yourself. Tell us who they are and how they are authorised.
Object or restrict
Under the GDPR, ask us to stop processing based on legitimate interests, or to freeze processing while we look into a dispute.
Portability
Under the GDPR, ask for the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format, or ask us to send it to another controller.
Withdraw consent
Turn analytics off from the privacy page. It takes one click and needs no email.
Complain
Tell us something went wrong. If we cannot fix it, escalate to the Data Protection Board of India or your local supervisory authority.
If you are in India, these come from the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, the GDPR adds the objection, restriction and portability rights. You can also ask on someone else's behalf if you are their nominated representative or have written authority.
What happens after you send it
- 01
Send the request
Use the form below or email the grievance mailbox directly. Both reach the same monitored inbox. The form only prepares the message in your own mail app — nothing is transmitted until you press send.
- 02
We acknowledge it
We aim to acknowledge within 7 days and to give you a substantive answer within 30 days. If a request is unusually complex, the GDPR allows up to two months; we will tell you before that deadline passes and explain why.
- 03
We may ask one question
Usually we only need to confirm that the request came from the address it concerns. If a listing names you at a different address, we may ask for something that connects you to it. We will not ask for more identity documents than the request actually needs.
- 04
We answer in writing
You get what we found, what we changed or deleted, and what we could not do and why. If we refuse a request, the refusal names the exemption we relied on and tells you how to escalate.
Send a request
Fill this in and it opens your email app with the details laid out for us. You can edit the message before sending. If you would rather write by hand, email privacy@hackloop.tech with the same information.
What we cannot do
Removing a listing from HackLoop does not remove it from the organiser's own site, search engines, or anywhere else it was published. We can only act on what we hold.
We cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, or data needed to establish or defend a legal claim. If that applies, we will tell you which record and which obligation, and delete the rest.
Our edge provider keeps short-lived request logs for security and delivery. We can ask the provider to action a request, but we cannot promise a specific log line has not already expired.
If you are not satisfied
Reply to our answer and say so. A refusal or an unresolved complaint is looked at again, and we will tell you what we can still do.
In India, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Its decisions can be appealed to the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal. In the EU, EEA and UK, you can complain to the supervisory authority where you live or work; the European Data Protection Board and the UK Information Commissioner's Office both publish a list.
Write to privacy@hackloop.tech and a person will answer. If the answer does not resolve it, use the regulator routes above.
