Techfest Stock Market & Equity Research Workshop
Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate, postgraduate, and high school students, as well as working professionals and stock market enthusiasts. No prior finance or trading background is required; concepts are taught from absolute scratch. Format & Rules Mode: 2-Day Offline Workshop at IIT Bombay Campus. Duration: 12 to 16 Hours total (split across 2 days). Prerequisites: Participants must bring their own laptop (with internet capability), notepad, and pen. Team Structure: Participants must register individually. Inter-College & Inter-Specialization: Allowed for all hands-on group tasks and capstone exercises (participants from any college, stream, or academic background can collaborate). Certification: A Certificate of Training from Techfest, IIT Bombay will be awarded upon attending all sessions. Topics: Stock Market Fundamentals & Structure: Exchanges (NSE/BSE), market participants (FIIs, DIIs, Retail), order execution types, and index dynamics . Fundamental Analysis & Stock Screening: Decoding financial statements (P&L, Cash Flow), key ratios (P/E, ROE, Debt-to-Equity), and building screener filters.
