Techfest Cybersecurity Workshop
Eligibility Open to all students currently enrolled in any undergraduate or postgraduate program. No prior cybersecurity experience is required. Basic familiarity with computers is sufficient to follow along. Open to students across all specializations and not restricted to CS/IT students. Students from non-technical backgrounds such as Economics, Management, Commerce, and other fields are welcome, especially for the compliance/GRC portion of the workshop. Team Format Registration is individual. Teams for the closing hands-on exercise will be formed on the day of the workshop. Format 1-day, offline, in-person workshop at the IIT Bombay campus. Duration: 6–8 hours, including live sessions, hands-on labs, and a closing hands-on cyberattack response exercise. Certificate of participation from IIT Bombay for all attendees. Free access to the rest of Techfest. Topics Cybersecurity fundamentals and the Indian cyber threat landscape. Networking basics for defenders. Security operations and hands-on log/alert analysis using Splunk. MITRE ATT&CK framework. Incident response through a real breach case study. Cryptography essentials.
